With a beautiful morning unfolding, today was the day that I could finally capture some outdoor pictures and video. With three ports in a row, we were starting to feel the fatigue. With a 6 am wake up, it was tough to wrestle ourselves out of bed, but being able to catch Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas turn and pull into port next to us was worth it. We then headed to the theater for the adults-only comedy show which was open seating. For this performance, Tom Simmons was the opening act doing about 20 minutes of new material. Lenny Schmidt was the closer, also doing about a 20 minute set.

We pretty much crashed immediately and began dreaming of our next cruise on Symphony of the Seas which is currently 2 months away. Arriving at the airport, we had our bags checked and were through security with plenty of time to do some social media and blogging. The show included a mix of songs, some that we had already heard in the band’s first show, as well as songs from the Abbey Road album and a few notable solos like Lennon’s Imagine. At the end of the performance, there was the typical officers farewell along with a parade of crew members.

Another new for NCL amenity is the chocolate-themed dessert outlet Coco’s (patisserie/treat shop), serving handmade pralines, crepes, truffles and other treats paired with specialty teas and coffees. The differences are Bliss has Spice H2O, which you probably wouldn't use in Oct. Encore has a specialty restaurant Bliss doesn't have...Onda. Bliss is known for Jersey Boys and the latest Alaska sailing had a new one I can't remember the name of right now.

Usually, this show is not well attended, so we figured we could still find some seats if we walked in late. The theater was packed, and we were stuck standing at the top of the balcony to watch the remainder of the show. From what we were able to see, the show was one of the better welcome aboard shows. The ship did not officially pull away from the pier until after 5 pm.
Icy Strait is accessible and riding the trams there is pretty fun. Others want Skagway for the train and I get it, but you have to pick. You should figure out what everyone wants before you just book something. As far as the glacier, I found Dawes to be the least impressive part of the trip. If you look at the Bliss, it has places on the sides that go in and pop out.
Since I have a teen who is an only child that doesn’t like to join into the fun of a teen club, we spent a lot of effort during our recent Alaskan cruise seeking out all the ways to entertain ourselves. When on a Norwegian Alaska cruise, you have a lot of time at sea and it often isn’t pool weather, so you want to pick a cruise ship that has plenty of non-sunbathing entertainment options. A Leisurely Morning At Sea
Ordering the usual cocktails first, we each then ordered at least one item for a starter, entree, and later dessert. As usual, the Princess kindly asked to have a chicken dish from the main dining room for her entree. This did not pose a problem with our waitress as it has in some past Cagney’s visits. Back to our room a bit before 5 pm, we began to change up for dinner.
So, when we heard that the entertainment reservations were already open in Q, we opted to delay the photo tour. Being crazy cruise bloggers, we were up at 5 am to watch NCL Bliss sail into port. We tried to fall back asleep, but the adrenaline was already starting to surge. Showering, getting dressed, and grabbing coffee, we were ready for a long day of our usual embarkation ritual.
On my last NCL cruise (to Antarctica/South America in December) I missed skillet cornbread night in the MDR because it was my son’s birthday and he wanted to celebrate at Teppanyaki. I’ve regretted prioritizing my kid’s happiness over that cornbread ever since. So I was NOT going to miss it tonight even though we were scheduled to cruise through the Endicott Arm fjord during dinner. It was so quiet in the dining room it was like being in church and let me tell you, that cornbread was a religious experience.

Juneau as a tram that goes up Mount Roberts-- on a clear day you can see forever. Skagway has the train that goes up the mountain to White Horse, Yukon Territory, Canada. Juneau is a popular cruise port for Alaska cruises, located on the Inside Passage of Alaska.
